Benefits

Vacation Leave

Eligible employees accrue vacation time on a monthly basis (6-month tenure required before use). Full-time employees begin accruing vacation time when employment starts and will accrue 10 days during their first year. They can earn up to 20 days per year after 15 years of service. Part-time employees accrue monthly vacation time on a pro-rated basis according to the number of hours they work.

Personal Leave

On January 1 of each year, all full-time employees are credited with 24 hours of paid personal time to be used for such things as appointments, family events, and unforeseen emergencies. New full-time employees begin accruing pro-rated personal leave based on their hire dates.

All full-time employees receive 14 paid holidays (8-hour days) each year.

Part-time employees, if they work on a designated holiday (indicated by an asterisk* above), are paid time and a half for the hours they worked on that day.

Health, Dental, Life and Disability Coverage

MRI provides insurance plans for dental, life insurance, and long-term disability to eligible part-time and full-time employees at no cost to the employee. A group health plan is available to full-time employees at a minimal cost for employee coverage. Dependent insurance for health and dental is available, and the employee is responsible for the entire premium.

Retirement

MRI provides a qualified, defined matching contribution retirement savings plan for all qualified employees. Employees may have a voluntary pre-tax payroll deduction invested in an agency-designated 403(b) plan (TDSA) to supplement MRI’s matching contribution of 2%-6% per paycheck.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

An Employee Assistance Program is available to all MRI full-time, part-time, and temporary employees and their families. These confidential services are designed and made available to assist employees in resolving personal and family problems that may be affecting their welfare and job performance.

Payroll Distribution

Employees can take advantage of direct deposit to their own bank account or be paid by check every other week.

Salary Continuation

Salary continuation plans are provided to eligible employees for situations requiring them to be away from work for things such as illness (including maternity/paternity), bereavement, jury duty, and military leave.

Sick Leave

Full-time employees accrue six hours of sick leave time each month.

Part-time employees who are scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week accrue three hours (3) of sick leave each month. Part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work a minimum of ten (10) hours per week shall accrue two (2) hours of a pay continuation.

Salary Bonus

Full- and part-time employees may earn a performance-based bonus every 12-month period. The maximum bonus amount for full-time employees is $1,000, and for part-time employees the maximum is $500.

Section 125 Flexible Spending Plan

All full-time employees may elect to utilize the Section 125 Flexible Spending Plan (Cafeteria Plan) and set aside pre-tax money to pay for unreimbursed medical and dependent care expenses.

Development Opportunities

MRI places a high value on staff development and provides comprehensive employee training to ensure our employees’ success. MRI provides core training and periodic refresher training for all employees and job-specific training based upon individual job responsibilities. Other opportunities for professional growth are provided when resources are available. MRI meets The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) training standards.
