MRI Hosts Field Day

MRI hosted the 4th annual Field Day in their outdoor activity center, Meaningful Meadows, on May 12th, 2023. The community was invited to enjoy lunch, games, basketball, kickball, and ice cream! During the fun-filled afternoon, President/CEO Amy Bliefnick presented three awards.

The first award presented was the Champions of Change Award. This was given to WAND-TV for their significant contributions to the betterment of MRI and the persons served. Dawn Sterling & Sean Streaty were present to accept the award. WAND is a consistent positive presence at MRI: they bring genuine joy to persons served. Amy Bliefnick, CEO of MRI, stated, “The entire team at WAND deserves this recognition. Their leadership, sales team, and reporters embrace our mission and the people we serve with open arms. We are blessed to have a community partner like them.”

The next award presented on Field Day was the Individual of Impact. The Individual of Impact Award was presented to Dorothy Reed. This award is dedicated to a person served at MRI who has made great strides in the areas of growth, self-worth, and independence over the past year. Dorothy has gone through some challenges throughout the past year, but her brilliant smile and charming personality continued to shine through it all. According to Ryan Raleigh, MRI’s Chief Operating Officer, “It is hard to describe in just a few words how much Dorothy means to us. She is the source of countless smiles, jokes, and fond memories. We are proud to present her with this award, and we hope that she knows what an impact she has on the people around her.”

The final award given was new, titled the Employee of Excellence Award. MRI was honored to present, for the first time, the Employee of Excellence Award to Chief Financial Officer Stan Rives upon his retirement. Stan has been with MRI for 28 years, and he has created transformational change through his selfless leadership and dedication. President/CEO Amy Bliefnick shared, “Stan is the definition of a leader. He has impacted our organization in ways that can’t be described, and we will miss him dearly. There is no one more deserving of this award today.”

“I am as thankful for this program as this gives my child anopportunity to learn teamwork, be with her peers and have fun. If not for this program, she would have been at home watching television and playing video games.”
