VISIONS Mental Health Program

What is vISIONS?

VISIONS:

The VISIONS Program, more formally known as the Psychosocial Rehabilitation program, provides vocational training, support, and other mental health services to adults with chronic mental illness.

PURPOSE:

VISIONS focuses on the needs and desires of each individual as well as increasing quality of life. The staff works with participants to provide training and support to improve daily lives and help reach goals.

Individual Support

VISIONS prioritizes each participant’s personal needs, goals, and overall quality of life. Staff members provide training and support to help individuals improve daily living skills and work toward meaningful goals.

Group Sessions

Group sessions follow weekly themes inspired by Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Topics include health and wellness, personal safety, self-esteem, relationships, goal setting, coping skills, job readiness, daily life management, and creative or leisure skills. This structure helps focus learning and supports peer facilitators in planning.

Inclusiveness

The program values diverse perspectives and encourages participants to respect one another’s views. VISIONS aims to create a safe, welcoming space free from the discrimination participants may face in everyday life.

Community Activities

Participants enjoy hands-on and social activities such as cooking classes, karaoke, and day trips to places like Rock Springs, Allerton Park, museums, and shopping areas. These experiences build skills while adding fun and variety to the program.
